This poster is my reflection after attending the Sea Change Design workshop instructed by Professor Andrea English at SJSU.
Since the pandemic, I began to be more aware of the environment around me, and I noticed California has experienced extreme weather and natural disasters each year that have affected our lives. On top of that, pollution and the human footprint have noticeably increased on the streets and freeways, and eventually make their way to the ocean. What is the main cause? Is it natural resource extraction, globalization, mass production, modernization, scientific development, or consumerism? Whatever the main culprits are, I have no right to address them since my daily needs also contribute to these environmental challenges.
As a designer, my work will inevitably leave footprints on Earth. With this consciousness in mind, I will creatively find solutions to protect this beautiful planet in any work I undertake. Here is my calling intention:
How can I inspire the world to regenerate natural resources and create a healthy environment on Earth?
